mind you a rifle should be on the list as nearly everybody haveing smg's or assault rifles is not to realistic (im guilty as charged and going bolt action next)

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

That's why I mentioned the k98, I know it's not on the list but still trying to fly the flag for more bolties. £100 difference just for EBB? well yes but in smiles per hour, if you do have the option I'd reccomend it. There is a very slight notion of recoil, nothing like I would imagine the real thing would be like, but more than the dullness of normal AEGs, and quite a distinctive sound on the battlefield.
I wouldn't describe it as ugly, more agricultural, but then again the Sten doesn't float my boat like it does for some others.

Got to say that having *lots* of Bolties around makes a hell of a difference to gameplay. We had a lot of them at the Op Aerial event (early war bash) and it really does change the dynamics of skirmishing.

OK, thats well and truly taken it off topic

Guys, thanks for all the heads up - very much appreciated

I took a ride over to the AAF this morning - nice to see you there, Kermit, BTW - and had a gander at the guns in question in the flesh, no Stens though!

I've got to say, 'beauty is [indeed] in the eye of the beholder', and 'looks aren't everything', too cliched phrases which immediately spring to mind :giggle: I happen to think the mp44 is a fine looking weapon, and I like the Rusky one even more. The real one had a fine reputation in the war I seem to recall, and the Germans were keen to get their hands on them if they could

The Ares gun, at £100 more, is a lovely looking thing, and very solid to handle - I fell in love with it straight away. Didn't buy one this morning but I did pick up a WE Luger, complete with hard shell holster and 4 mags for 110 notes :happydance:

Looks like I'll be saving for a PPSH, at least to start with :happyswing:
